I always strive to be as healthy as possible, especially now that I am a mom. Besides eating healthy, I make excercise part of my weekly routine. Some weeks are harder than others to get motivated but I always strive to exercise three to four times a week. I love the feeling after I've completed a good workout! I feel like I can take on anything!
One of my favourite activities is pilates. I love the variety and that each movement stems from the core and your breath. It's very different from yoga. Trust me! I've tried yoga so many times and I get so bored and restless.
I would have to say that I see the best results from pilates. I started pilates about five years ago with Studio Technique. Rachel Hagen taught me and got me into the best shape of my life! After having my daughter, my body changed significantly. Even though I was breast feeding, my weight was not coming off. I held on to my extra weight until I stopped breast feeding.
Unfortunatley, the media misleads us by constantly praising celebrities that have returned to their pre-pregnancy bodies within months of giving birth. Keep in mind, that it is their job to get back into shape. I'm sure they have all the best nannies and coaches to help them reach their goals. I did not have access to any of this, obviously! Once I got the okay from my doctor, I went back to my pilates studio. Through time, I have gotten stronger and leaner. I'm happy that I didn't let the extra weight discourage me and kept myself disciplined. I've since purchased a reformer for my own gym so I can use it at my own convience.
I'm so happy that I can now confidently wear this outfit and share it with you all on my blog. Alo is one of my favourite brands of activewear. These high waisted leggings are so soft and stretchy. They are also transitional so you can wear them from your pilates class to lunch with your girls.
This sports bra is one of the best ones I've purchased. It hugs but it's not restricting. The lower hem line means my stomach is not totally exposed and the neck line is so flattering. To be honest, I was looking for the pink version but I tried on this colour for size. I'm so happy that I did! The seagrass colour is gorgeous on and stands out against my skin tone. I also love this outfit so much that I'm going to buy it another colour.
